RC Plane DevLog 1: I’ve started this project by researching the MPU-6050 and BPM280 and I’ve soldered them with my terrible solder skills. I also had HMC5883L sensor for the compass heading part of the project but it arrived dead so instead of ordering a replacement I decided to go and get a MPU-9250 since it was finally in stock again. And as an additional plus compared to the 6050 it has digital compass so I can merge the 5883L and the 6050 into one saving valuable space and weight. (Even if its quite small). I’ve also written some code to test out the functionalities of the BPM280. (You can see it working in the video below :)) I’m also gonna add a feature to calculate altitude above ground. And finally im also thinking of putting a ultrasonic distance sensor to use when it comes to land the plane just for the added precision so if you have any recommendations or ideas on that I would appreciate feedback :)
