Devlog 4 for ArctosOS
I finished my first app on the OS! Now, the OS comes with the ArctosNOTES app.
Here are some changes:
- Apps are now left-justified, rather than centre-justified as previously shown in devlogs.
- The Welcome Screen (openable by the ArctosOS button in the bottom-left corner) now appears 30 pixels away from the top and left of the screen in the top-left corner.
- The ArctosNOTES app has been added to the OS. It has various functionalities, including opening multiple notes and editing the contents (however, saving the contents is not supported in the OS as of yet)
- The clock at the bottom-right of the OS can sometimes be distracting with the timer being updated every second, so we adopted the Windows 10/11 OS way of showing the time, with firstly, the time at the top and then the date underneath it (there were still some issues with the
en-CAway of displaying time, so I decided just to use theen-USway instead) - All windows (welcome, notes) remain draggable, closable, and openable. The top part of each window has been redesigned from a transparent background to an opaque one to remove distractions.
Next steps!
- Find a way to add more features (maybe saving notes?)
- Add more apps
- Maybe find a way to be able to change the background image as needed
