well spent bunch of time in finishing parts and researching regarding the pulley mechanism to moving the heatbed. But still i havnt figuired it out that which heat bed to use. there are plenty, many with proprietary connectors or requires custom elctronics(besides open source code for the controllers). Well i will make the base design add constraints and finilize the hotbed on the fly as i like. IF you have any idea which to use pls tell.
Well the y axis gantry is almost complete. just a little tuning and it all should be good to go. it really took the time to just how to make this cause it will be handling all the load so it needed to be perfect hopefully it’s structurally stable and just doesnt collapse. and yeah i know that nema motor looks off from the mount. i just mounted the screws alittle off by 3-4 mm and yeah. in theory it should be perfect. hopefully
Just finished modelling a lead screw, lead screw atart and nema 17 motor mount along with the stepper position. i feel like its gonna be ass still to figure out stepper position. this is gonna be my tentative position.
making a precision part at mm level precision is lowkey tough. especially when huggling throught theese datasheets. yes i left a tolerance of 2mm. it has to be 3d printed and its mine first stl so is it ok?
did some massive design changes. Though the changes may look minute but thoose are massive. the first pic is the new model and second is the old model. Well the old model had some structural flaws.
mgn12 guids added masive weight, and the iron corners were too weak to handle the sag. so the frame woud be tipping like towards me.
the new model solved that by changing the guides direction. added corner brackets which are much stronger. went for dual beams at the base to strenghten it. now i theory the front tipping sag shoud be eliminated. the main load bearing will now be done on the top canteleaver beam.
now just need to designt the y axis holding brackets to hold it firmly.
looks easy but is a tough job as i have to go through the entire mgn12 chineese documentation and also make the design applicable to lead screw which will drive theese motors

yeah progress is quite low but i had to research extensions plus beginner so hopefully next time its more productive
