I’m creating a 3D animation of a crash test dummy building a house in Blender. Today I downloaded and imported all the models I found online and got them all setup in the way I wanted them to be in the layout. I also started on a simple storyboard so that way I’m not making up the animation as I go. I was having a bit of trouble getting one of the model’s textures applied, (the coca cola bottle) but I did figure it out in the material tab for that object. After all the setup with the placements and the textures that came with the downloaded models, I found a nice grass texture and applied it to the ground. But I wanted the texture to repeat itself since the ground object was a lot larger then the texture and I didn’t want it to be stretched. So I figured out to do this all I had to do was go to the UV editor and select all the edges of the texture (I might’ve been selecting the object I’m not sure) and just increase its size, then blender automatically repeated it for me. I still do need to figure out how to make the grass not shiny though. After this I started on the walk animation to the lawn chair. (as seen in screenshot) I used a Pivot Animator walking cycle reference to help me figure out the key poses. So far I’ve got down one step, but the good thing is that once I do the next step with the other foot I’ll be able to just duplicate the already existing keyframes, that way I don’t have to animate the same thing multiple times. So for next time I work on this animation I’m going to finish the walk and sitting down into the chair part of the animation and make it look nice and smooth with the graph editor.
