The Periodic Table: Devlog #3

To be totally honest, the entirety of this was spent trying to get the darn table to format properly.

The buttons still don’t work. Probably going to try something else after this.

(Sorry this is scant. I’m posting, like, 2 weeks after I last touched this.)

What I Got Done:

• Switched the grid out for table
• Retyped all the buttons
• Did some basic formatting for the table & added colors for the groups
• Added a video
• Created radiobuttons for a “dark mode” & “light mode” (still have to create the JS function)

Challenges

• Retyping all the buttons
• Choosing colors

A Friendly Guide to Stellar Evolution: Devlog #1

What I Got Done:

• Found & uploaded image files
• Created all needed html pages
• Created all image links (& appropriate bookmarks)
• Created a basic “Q&A” section

Challenges

• Finding good images
• Keeping track of where each link needs to go & what image it needs
• Figuring out a good organization system for the information

After this, I need to add the rest of information, turn the haphazard images into a good “map”, & add CSS (and maybe JS).

The Periodic Table: Devlog #1

Accomplished:

• Created all needed files (& beginning code)
• Decided that the grid element is best for making an interactive table (so much research)
• Manually input each element (all 118)
• Turned a list of 118 buttons into a grid

Challenges

• Psyching myself up to manually input all 118 elements
• Copying down symbols & families of the elements from a periodic table
• Researching ‘grid’ & relevant properties

Started a clock website (a week ago. Sue me; I’m horrible at updating).

Work Done:

• Created the home page
• Created the bare bones of a timer page
• Created an absolutely terrible CSS for the timer page (needs serious work)
• Created a less terrible CSS for the home page (also needs work)
• Made a JS for the timer page (which remains empty)

Challenges:

• Took me 1 hour to realize I needed an “index.html” file
• Took me even longer to realize that the CSS file had to end in “.css” for it to work.
