I made the schematic in kicad for my hear rate monitor. 💘
After many hours of misery and trying to figure out how photoplethysmography works I was finally able to get a working prototype of a heart rate monitor.
~~
I was testing it and my watch showed me around 72 BPM and my prototype said something between 70 and 73 so I call that a victory. It is important to point out that your heart rate can change rapidly fast.
(In the second picture you can see the output of my program, but it is in my native language: “MOMENTÁLNÍ TEP” means “The current heart rate” and “STABILIZOVANÝ PRŮMĚR” means “the average heart rate”)
~~
Photoplethysmography comes with many problems like motion artefacts which are kinda difficult to solve. You have to do a lot of filtering on your data till you get somehow good results.
~~
At the end of the day the main idea is pretty simple: you shine light through your finger and due to basic principles of spectroscopy you can measure the changes in the light on the other side of the finger.
Well that was my journey! :D
The next steps would be to design a case for it so i can limit the motion artefacts.
Stay safe! ✨💘
TIC TAC TOE vs AI in Roblox progress
From the last devlog a lot happened. The most significant update is that the AI is finnaly working. It is a bit dumb but there are lots of limitations that are pretty hard to bypass. The biggest problem is Roblox´s execution time which limits the time of the AI calculation. I have already tried bypassing it but it still have some limitations.
My next main goals are to make the AI work a bit better (more effective), make the other gamemodes work and improve the UI and overall the game feel.
See you at the next devlog! :)
So after my last devlog i decided to remake the PCB and make it hexagon shaped so it can represent beehive. I had to remake all of the wiring on my PCB. I struggled a bit when creating the shape but i eventually figured it out.
My biggest enemy is fusion :D It took me a lot of time to figure out everything in fusion. After many hours of struggling i finally had a case that could be used. I added text, the USB port hole, keypad holes, rotary encoder hole and also hole for the display. I tried my best making it look like a beehive.
I also quite struggled with 3 models of the parts like keypads, displays and rotary encoder. I was not quite sure on how to add them to the PCB and to the model in fusion. Then i realized it was in the resources and tips tab in the tutorial…
I think I am now ready to submit the project so I can receive the kit. I am pretty hyped to build it IRL so I hope there will not be much problems. Wish me luck!✨
After many hours of trial and error I decided to give up on creating my own Hackpad. I just was not happy with the outcome of my work, so I decide to start from scratch and completely rebuild the whole project.
My biggest mistake was that I did not have a vision. I just aimlessly followed the tutorial and I got demotivated quite fast. Now I have a vision and I will do everything to finish my Hackpad.
I just finished my PCB design and the biggest challenge is ahead of me. Designing the case. For me fusion is really complicated to navigate and I struggle with it. Stay tuned and I will keep you updated :D✨
I am building a project that will not only test my skills but also the limits of Roblox. My goal is to make a classic connect 5 game (It is actually called Gomoku) but you can also play against an AI (engine like stockfish for chess)
Since this project will not be easy I have to build a strong foundation otherwise this project will fail! I have started with basic functions:
So far there was not a lot of problems but I realized that I quite misunderstood how does the modulescripts work when they are used both on client and server side. That was so far the biggest problem i had to overcome but it led to learning new stuff so it was worth it!
Most of the main game mechanics are done but I have to work on usability because it is nowhere near being ready to play by other people. Here are things i would like to implement until my next devlog:
This is just the beginning of this project and it will not be easy. Making the engine actually efficient so that it can play better moves will not be just a programming challenge but also a math/logical challenge since i do not have much experience with engines.
Wish me luck and stay tuned! ✨
In the last devlog I was talking about adding a date picker and so I did. Now the website feels much more useful and I do not have to stare at the one same image.
I also tried making the looks better by adding some headings and also more colors ✨
Here are some pretty photos I found:
I just finished the Give Your Website a Pulse and here is what I learned and implemented:
I will try letting the users change the date of the “astronomy photo of the day” so you can kinda browse through them
