I’ve cleaned up the OnShape model, and the Pi Mount I mentioned earlier is finalized.

I still need to improve the ball and socket joint, and find out how to make the chassis more interesting.

One idea I intend to add to this tomorrow, is a multipurpose servo at the front.
I realized last night that this is a pretty lame project with nothing unique about it, so I’ve decided I’ll give this car a modular “hand” at the front, essentially a servo which does a swappable action, such as grabbing an object with the “grabber module,” or playing with my cat, using the “bell module” or something.
I also want to add a webcam to the front, that will show a live feed of what’s going on through the webapp.
Maybe by the end of the summer, I’ll learn how to make it self driving through obstacle recognition? Never worked with a neural network before, so I doubt I’ll be able to figure out something complicated like that so soon.

Threw together an OnShape mockup of how I want the bot to look.
I made some minor dimensions adjustments, differing from what I had originally planned with the cardboard prototype, like rounding the chassis size dimensions to cleaner, whole numbers, and moving the motor mounts closer up to the front.

Tomorrow, I’ll work on the Raspberry pi mount.
I believe that I can build the chassis from cardboard, but the raspberry pi mount, ball & socket omniwheel, and the motor mounts must be 3d printed. I don’t own one, so I’ll order them from a printfarm (hopefully with Stardance’s funding)
This is too horrid to be called a final design. I will improve it before I submit it to Stardance, but that can wait until tomorrow.

I made a (very) rough prototype of the robot’s design. Not sure if I can even call it a prototype, since, it’s just a cardboard amalgamation in the shape of how I want it to look.
I built it out of cardboard before I made any official designs, because I wanted to get a feel for the physical size of how I want it to be. I’ll take measurements, and digitize this into OnShape, before making any adjustments.
