I’ve made some more progress since yesterday!

Now my Stellar Focus app can pull from real data for the planets, so if you search it up you’ll see it pop up in NASA’s datasets! A real object from the cosmos…

Also, I tried to make the visuals look better, along with an animation when you click “Stop,” that looks like a blue supernova explosion, shown in one of the photos. The planets have more detail now, and they don’t have a weird looking aura anymore.

The planets are more rendered, but still it is so hard to make it look identical to the hypothetical visualization NASA offers.

Next up, I plan to add more detailed planets, a better reveal animation, and a system so that you can start collecting your planets, nebulae, and galaxies! I also want to add different POV’s, like a planet view, star view, and system view, as well as allowing the user to move through space using their mouse, so you’re not fixed at a single point.

P.S.,

I HAVE TO CHANGE THE FONT…

Any ideas or suggestions to this app?

Hello! I am a fairly new coder and have been wanting to start something for the longest time!

This project I am working on is called “Stellar Focus.”

Basically, as a high school student juggling multiple activities and courses, I noticed that a lot of the time, I’d constantly drift to my phone or random distractions, and I’d wound up starting my homework or meaningful work at like 10:00 P.M…. (I slept at 11).

So I’m trying to create an interactive study app, where you basically set a timer on the home screen and focus. When you’re done studying or doing your work, you can discover new objects in the universe, ranging from little rocks to nebulae and galaxies. The longer you study, the bigger the object you earn, and the more you can put into your inventory. You can essentially collect parts of space, make your own universe, and traverse through it, in your own cinematic universe.

Day one was a lot and was pretty hard for me. I have a big vision but It’s hard to articulate. So far I have just the timer, a 2D starfield, and a galaxy. But, I want to implement much more soon, such as a 3D universe so you can move around it, more accurate info cards, nice ambient music, as well as cool animations when you click stop, so you can see your object come to life.

Also definitely gotta change the font, and make it way more visually appealing !
