Project HydroCarrier is a self-navigating hardware solution built to manage sudden indoor rainwater pooling. The robot sits on a rugged chassis powered by a rechargeable 12V 20Ah LiFePO4 battery, engineered to run continuously for 6 to 8 hours during heavy storms. It uses dual high-torque geared motors to navigate slippery floors while carrying heavy water. An onboard Raspberry Pi 5 and an RPLiDAR A1M8 scanner handle the mapping and pathfinding. When water pools in the room, it is collected into an internal 5-liter tank. Once a level sensor detects the tank is full, the robot automatically navigates to the bathroom, turns on an internal 12V submersible pump to dump the water down the drain, and returns to its station to repeat the process.
