Hi I’m an 18 year old student from Namibia that loves making mobile apps, I’m new to this and use cursor to help when I’m stuck or to build the backend.

Dev vlog 4 - Im now focusing on making the UI more unique and interactive. For planning im using Figma and for animations im using Lottie. I added some coloured elements so that its easier to see the difference between features more easily, like if your inquiry is pending or has been answered.

What I made:
Kazi connects skilled trade workers with customers who need their services, making the process faster and easier. Workers are electricians, plumbers, builders, welders, mechanics, and other professionals who create profiles, showcase their skills, and find relevant jobs. Customers can use Kazi to discover skilled workers, view their profiles, and find the right person for the work they need.

The challenges I faced:
The challenges I faced were setting up the Google API to allow for Google sign-up and making sure the frontend and backend were communicating. Additionally, making a polished, well-thought-out app with minimal bugs was another challenge.

Things I accomplished that I am proud of:
Before starting this challenge, using the terminal felt like a foreign language and I didn’t know why the backend and frontend had to be separate. Now I can confidently say that the terminal is my best friend, and I don’t need to watch YouTube tutorials on the difference between an API and an SDK.

Things to know:
On the demo the google sign in does not work only on emulators it does. Taking photos and contact via phone is not supported on the demo as well. Using th README file has a lot of additional tips. If you create an account even if you close the file will be saved in the database and you can log in, if you have trouble deleting the account you made email me the email you used and ill do it manually.

Dev vlog 3 - I started using emulator, it took a while to install and setup. I made worker accounts have bonuses feature to get more clients, but now I want to improve the UI and add custom badges and animations, I started learning how to use Lottie to do that.

Dev vlog 2 - I made the customer side of the app but I used dummy data and didn’t connect any APIs yet so I need to do that. I also need to fix bugs and allow customers to contact the workers.

Dev vlog 1 - I’m building a mobile app to help trade workers like plumbers, electricians, and cleaners find work. In the same light to help people find someone who can fix their leaky tap or install a cupboard. This is the workers side that I’ve built, I used my brothers phone to help me make a demo account and test out the features. The key features are different languages, photo verification, and google sign up.
