Hello World!!
I made a calm and graceful looking OS. This OS is meant to feel like home, have a sentimental attractiveness to it. I chose Violet Evergarden because for me watching the anime gave me a sense of belonging as she found herself learning about different people.

It has draggable windows with minimise, maximise and close buttons (though you cannot get the app back once you minimise. It is a bug i plan to fix in the next version.). The OS has its button island (i still don’t know what its called) in the bottom with icons that hover when you pass over them.

I made a mistake of making the initial commits from my old account and later switched to the new account.

Although this might be too simplistic a more niche version is coming in webOS V 2.0!!!!!

cant wait to start creating :))

signing off! Version 1.0 is officially finished………..

VERSION 1.0 finished
.
Added a simple clock app using a sandboxed frame and a different short html file that will run that frame. Currently only 1 app. I will be adding more in webOS 2.0.
.
.
t is really hard to get the JS working for the apps and sometimes it ends up breaking the other part f the js sigh :(
.
though alls well that ends well! Signing off!! Have a great day ahead

MAJOR MISTAKE!!
I just made a major mistake that could get be reported. All this time I was committing with my old account (gbarial) [it is a great username i came up with myself. I used it to refer to myself from 4 years. Now it’s time to outrgrow it and take on my given name] the personal story aside, It looks like two people made the commit but worry not its just me. So please keep this in mind before reporting my project to be done by someone else…..

Back to the devlog….. I made the window draggable and made the minimise maximise buttons work. It looks really cool now!!

It looks so graceful!!!!!!!

Made the welcome message and improved the CSS a whole lot.

I don’t believe i made something that looks sooooo smooth. MWAH!! just love it. I foud out that using canve makes it really easy to get the space right. I even made the apps hover. The animation is just <3

I also improved the js script. The next goal is to make the window draggable and get those maximise minimise buttons working!!

Done with html. added a logo and background css along with loading screen script.
added a loading page using event listener in the script and also initialised the clock.

up next would be to refine the design and then add the app icon space (idk what its called I don’t use a mac)

Phase 0 over..

today learnt about I2C protocol and about ERC, DRC, vias, gerber, schematic and footprints.

also i found a tool called vlexio (https://velxio.dev/editor/) for simulating pcbs. Now I believe i have enough basics down to start messing around electronics.

Tomorrow I’ll be starting phase 1.
wish me the best!!

Phase 0: #1

Decided that I need to understand things to really make a worthwhile custom board. So I devised a learning plan with the help of AI. The knowledge gained here would carry forward into my future hardware projects.

phase 0 starts with knowing what I am working with and its functioning.
Today I learnt about GPIO and about its input and output high and low. Then can floating inputs and how pull up and pull down resistors help keep it fixed.
However I do not quite get the secondary functions like ADC, I^2C, SPI and UART.
Though matrix switching feels like a really smart move to convert dependence from n^2 to n for amount of pins required.
Then came diodes and ghosting which I did not quite get.

If anyone has read this far, it’s a request could you please clear this doubt of mine.
I want to be more clear about the ghosting and matrix scanning part: matrix scanning works in cycles. The firmware first pulls the row pin to 0 and checks which of the column pins are 0. if the output (row pin) and input (column pin) are both at 0V what part does current play in reading as ghosting is explained as current flows backwards by finding an alternate pathway. If to read both are at 0 potential so no current should flow between them then how does it give a false reading when backward current flows.
and Thank you for your help in advance.

tomorrow I hope to be looking at quadrature encoders, schematic, footprint, net, trace, via , ERC, DRC and gerber and after that I at least hope I know what part (leds, switches, rotary encoders and oled) goes into which pin. wish me the best!!!! Ganbare

devlog #1

This was the my first time working with CAD, PCB and any EE thing. I must say it was quite interesting. For starters, I tried to follow along the hackclub basic hackpad tutorial to get a gist of it.

summary of what I learnt: PLACED STUFF TOGETHER AND SOMEHOW MADE IT WORK.

Now, I will actually start exploring and learning KiCAD, Fusion 360 and EE for real.

I hope i do well. Wish me the best!!!!

Hello World!!
This is my first stardance project and also the first time in ages i have made something using code.

This was my milestone in stepping into software and hardware formally. Hereon I plan to be actively building for this year and hope to get a new laptop before college and get into IIT Bombay for it!!

the nostalgia while building this was unmatched. I remember learning all this back in 6th grade and sometimes the commands just pop into my head and it feels awesome.

the hardest part personally was the color palette which i think i still don’t quite get it and its not as good to the eye as i hoped it would be. But it is my first project and I hope to improve drastically moving forward!!.

Thank you :)

Followed a yt tutorial and learnt to create a basic website with hovering cards.

added the most popular top header which has about projects and contact (the part which i think looks most professional).

i looked around stardance and saw really awesome project to which this project could not compare to i hope in the coming year to be making such projects myself!!!
