FluxOS Final Devlog #21

So, Yes this is going to be my final Devvlog on this project and on Stardance as a whole probably though I have an entire month Infront of me I have shi to do in RL and i am focusing on the ysws too so yea gotta end this here i suppose, There is alot I still wanna build on Flux but there is technical and aesthetic constraints on vanilla CSS and JS so It would make the project so big that neither will i be able to complete it nor will it run well so im ending it here that said im pretty happy how it turned out, it looks pretty good for a project i started making when i began coding
Whats New?
- Added the music player back
- Default settings have been updated
- Updated readme
- Taskbar google Search
- Final UI clean up
PS: the clock position might change depending on your screen size it should be fine on most lap but on larger or smaller screen it might be a bit off target so just drag it back to where it is in the wallpaper ight? ( I cant figure it out 
)

What New?
So essentially small bug changes and a new feature
- the accent picker now has a auto or manual option to choose from
- the Auto accent picker bug where it displayed on top the manual accent has been fixed
- bug where the pet wouldnt come out in itss proper size has been fixed
- SEARCH BAR ADDED ( YES BROWSER SEARCH ) yea its not an embedded browser it does take you to a new tab when you search anything but its still better than having a half assed wiki page as the browser which doesnt event work and it got cool rolling text hehhehe

Whats New?
- BETTER ACCENTS, so I earlier had only 4 accents and they were kinda eh meh so yea this is a fully reworked accents with now 10 colors which changes the color of the glass and the Globe live wallpaper and updates in real time ( pet is still white )
- took shit ton of time cause i somehow broke the taskbar ( yep ik )

Whats new?
- Honestly nothing much just some minor ahh changes
- fixed maximise , minimise and close button function so now the windows actually maximise properly instead of the old broken one
- Dock autohide when maximised
- Updated terminal
- lost the entire site for half an hour ( didnt even have dev console ) but fixed it

- THE PET IS FINALLY HERE ( YEES IK ISNT HE CUTE :O ) this one is so much of an improvement over thee last pet i had and the cat i tried to make omg and the math behind it is genuinely fascinating ( not gonna bother explaining it here ) so yea it was made the by this dude https://github.com/codetoanbug/ReptileInteractiveCursor
or atleast that whom i used to understand how the code worked and yea the pet is togglable works on all background and yea pretty cool

Whats New?
- Brought back the custom wallpaper options
I expect the live and static wallpaper shifting to be a lot more difficult cause I’m not using a video as the live wallpaper but a reactive that moves with your mouse and I had problems with this in the past nonetheless everything went pretty smoothly too smoothly in fact I thought something would break and I would have to spend 3hrs finding what broke but it took barely an hour hmm isn’t that interesting
- Cleaner up a visual bug for the accents where the colors weren’t rendering properly in their half and would leak into the other half

- What all got removed?
- Music player , Browser , pet - Went for redesign and rework
- Notification centre - Removed and discarded
- Wallpaper capabilities - temporarily removed
Ye, No joke i removed half of the entire WebOS
- What got added?
- Custom png icons
- new cursor effect removing the old one
- a new dynamic wallpaper ( which is the reason for removing custom wallpapers)
- New look generally speaking

Apart from the fact im posting this almost a month since I last touched it there has been quoote alot of changes
- You can now close the notification centre
- the Accent colors and a new design
- Two apps has been removed for further development
- Cleaned up the code
- Fixed some bugs

Whats New?
So there is nothing much major to say new even though its over 10hrs of coding time almost 8hrs was debugging the things I already had cause there was may things that was broken from the last coding session that I had too dedicate the entire day towards Bugfixing the old code and since most of the old bugs where invisible i had to go through the entire code manually to come across over 10 bugs but all is good everything works as it should except the aero snap which I’m still figuring out and yes I have been coding almost the entire day and ngl Im seriously not stopping until tonight cause I’m basically hooked atp and I only stopped to post a Devlog otherwise my hours wont be counted Oh welp

except for alot of shi breaking like always thing OS is finally coming together
- Cursor Particle trail system fixed
- Basic boot animation exsists
- a very bad but working aero snap ( tho ccant really function cause the dragging broke )
- local storage ( VFS system ) added
- notification Centre added

Soooo Why do I have 17 hrs logged over 3 days and literally nearly no change to the actual WebOS and If anything a broken cursor??
Well so essentially I didnt know you had to log eveery 10hrs ( down goes 7 hrs in the drain ) and the 17 hrs I was trying alot of ideas trying to get work but couldnt cause well ehhh skilll issue….. ( ._. ) but i got a particle effect for the cursor working ….. except the cursor dosent work now …… oh well also i tried to get the cat working for like 10 hrs out of thee 17 and ye it is just not listening to me so yea im probably rethink my approach for this project and keep it oon the side for a few days

I am tired, so goddamn tired after 6hrs of coding ughhhhh
so essentially i tried to make a desktop cat similar to the Comnyang pixel cat and after 6 hrs i havent moved anywhere i couldve probably spent more time making the OS better but nahh i spent it on a pixel cat
that said i got something to work so idk i just need to find a way to make the json file better ahhh welp

Its 1 in the goddamn morning and I Finally got it to work finally after hours off debugging Jesus Christ and I’m currently cracked rn I’m very happy with what I made in 2hrs and that the debugging was soooo much more easy after i learned how to read errors, cause at first id just be confused and just start reading the code for the errors but its the entire codebase is over 700 lines long and reading it wasn’t plausible anymore anyway this is a major milestone
What Changed ??
- Basically the entire code changed to keep it short at first i coded CSS inline with HTML, now i just took my entire CSS file and made it a separate file
- You can put Custom Wallpapers now ( yes even you dog or cat can be your wallpaper ) using the Local storage property of JS
- the themes work but they aren’t much of use rn, Ill add more later and simplify them
- The control center isn’t how I want it now but honestly its already middle of the night so I’m doing that tomorrow
- You can change the transparency value of the windows and now can make them transparent, or frosty type whatever you like
- there is a WebApp Dock now where you can add your favorite sites and click them to immediately launch them like a real App dock

What changed?
- I added Window transparency, Yes now the windows have a small frosted glass look though its not that visible because of the plain background but when u stack apps it becomes clear
What’s Next?
- I have an idea for an app dock not sure if it’ll work
- I am trying to add a ability to customize your background
- Making a control center that pops up from the side
