I’m done!
I’m done!
Finished the BLARE CAD
I know, I know, I said I’d finish this 13 days ago, but I’ve been really busy. To be honest I don’t even know if I’ll be able to finish the code today, I’ve never even touched Arduino IDE, so I might need AI to do it (ugh).
Anyways, after I’m done with this project I should have a great total of 30 hours done, earning my Stardust Certificate, which is cool, sadly I will probably get no Stardust from this mission, since they only get 5 Stardust per hour on construction, not design… still, it was fun.
Progress! Finally. Now that I’m no longer limited by the streak (I don’t gotta do stuff everyday, so I can finish everything I start without risking having nothing left for tomorrow) I can do anything… the Blare mission is going down today. First, I had to correct some stuff from the PCB, then made it pretty, added the proper 3D models for everything and started the enclosure design, I think I’m going to go with a classic design, y’know? Something kinda squarish, with a nice bevel, buttons on the top but on the far back, maybe add some stuff about my dog? I dunno, I have to go, but I’ll be back in an hour to finish this.
Finished the PCB! Took a while, mostly because I forgot to actually install the default KiCad Libraries when I first installed it and that took me a while to figure out… anyways, now I just gotta make the CAD design, make the code, and I’m good to go!
Somehow the first 30 minutes did not track 😭 Anyways, this is the last devlog, hopefully in a good while. I added three widgets, one for weather (with less data), one for calendar, and one for Music, it look pretty neat now. I also added a new app to track your Hackatime stats, just plug your username in (daval in my case) and you can see your stats!
Organized the JS and CSS files into new folders, used the JS script from my Digital Hub to create a “Music” app, basically tracking, with the option to hear along through Youtube. A fun little extra, 1/3 requirements for the WebOS 2 mission done, 2 to go!
Finally! I’m done, over, complete! This took so much more than two hours, I don’t know if it’s just because of the limited amount of neurons in my brain or if it’s really more complicated than it looks… but I’m done!
First, I added a whole new app, Weather (thanks open-meteo)
Second, added a new button to expand the windows! It’s not perfect, and it only goes full screen, it doesn’t change sizes YET
Third, added a new entry to the notes app.
Fourth, ate some celebration nachos
FIfth, used the trust worthy Google AI to make a ReadMe.md file for the Github (sue me, I’m lazy)
Sixth, made all windows the same size
And that’s all! This was kinda fun!
Slow and slower:
This session was short, relatively simple and good. I made the notes app and styled it to my liking. I also made the cursor an orange ball that goes big and oranger when it hovers over a clickable object, and small when it clicks anything.
WHO FINISHED THIS IN ONLY TWO HOURS! IT’S A TRICK! A JOKE! THEY’RE LYING!
Just some basic follow up, changed the title of some pages, checked up the links, and created a codespace! So now I can code anywhere, even if it’s not my own laptop! That’s so peak
Added my brand new certificates, corrected the fact that my default lander page is in School.html instead of home.html, and added the pdf’s of the official certs, once the header/image is clicked it’ll get you to the official PDF.
No rest for the wicked 😭
So, my ten hour portfolio website yielded a total of 30 Stardust, which isn’t too bad, but it definetly isn’t the best, kinda feel like I wasted 10 hours… ANYWAYS, since that didn’t quite work out as expected, I chose to start another project, the WebOS 1 mission, it says it’s only ~2:30 hrs, and it yields 50 Stardust, that’s way more than what I got with 10 hours!…
I see why now, this is DEFINITELY harder than it looks, but game’s game, so… yeah, at least I’m getting hours 😭
Today was simple:
Build the welcome window
Added the toolbar, made the JavaScript files for the time tracking, window movement and the ability to open and close windows.
Moved all my styiling into a CSS file.
Honestly this is kinda good for me, it’s tedious, boring sometimes, but it’s very good. Most, if not all, my projects until now were made with a template, if someone asked me to make an HTML file from scratch four hours (four hours 😭) ago I couldn’t have done it, let alone style it in CSS… so actually learning something is nice, I’ll be back tomorrow.
This took WAY longer than expected, but at last, nearly 10 hours later… here’s my website:
It was an awesome run, it felt fun to do this, hope you guys don’t obliterate me with the ratings and I get enough stardust to get something 😭
FINALLY, I FINISHED THE SCHOOL SUBPAGE 😭 it took a little over an hour in total but since I’ve been busy with school it feels like it took days, now I gotta finish the cert page and the clubs page, the first one should be relatively easy since I hold barelly a couple certificates, and the clubs & events should be easy too, since I’ve only been in two club and one event/internship/volunteering… the Projects Page will also be relatively time consuming, Media Tracking will probably be the hardest, since I want to sync my Last.fm to the website(can’t even do an HTML from scratch btw, no idea how I’m gonna sync Last.fm 😭).
PD: Slowly but surely my new mantra is becoming “Progress is progress”
Finished the second section of my School Subpage, corresponding to Sophomore Year, at this pace I’m gonna finish next week -_-
barelly did anything, js tweaked some stuff, added my second semester transcript… tomorrow I will add requirements for graduation and more images
Worked on the School subpage of the Academics page, couldn’t finish since I had to go, but something’s something
Second Devlog
I modified one of the htmls to serve as the introduction for subpages for projects, school work and certificates :D
