All done, exported the model, cleaned it up, and everything in between. I will keep it as just a 3D model for Stardance, since I think the painting will be done after Stardance is over. Also because I won’t be the one doing it :) (I cannot paint to save my life) Had a fun time doing the project and all. Side note is that before exporting it, I did inflate some parts of the mask because it was too thin for my slicer to print it. I tried to get around it with settings but didn’t end up doing it. If the paint job and all the primer/sealer stuff does get done before the end of Stardance, I’ll put a picture of it as a comment.
NOW A GUIDE FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO DO THIS THEMSELF!!!
Soooooo funny story, I actually started on this and then kind of forgot to make it a project ;-; This is why my first devlog has 7 hours logged. Whoops! Just a recap so far, I started by thinking that I could do a character that looked cool, so I was trying to do Makima. I got my references, and tried 3d modeling her face from scratch. This was to say the least a very bad idea, since I have no idea what the proportions were. So I ended up importing a base anime character face (link below), and building off of that. I spent a while doing it, but then decided to scrap it all in favor of doing Reze, since there would be a more obvious change between the drop thing (it’ll make more sense at the end I promise). So right now I’m just barely starting on Reze, and no I haven’t watched any of the Chainsaw Man anime, but I am considering watching the Reze Arc movie since I’m literally trying to 3d model Reze.

Cool that’s it for now, I’m gonna go work on making sure the head shape is about right and then the hair. (I will most likely self-combust doing the hair from ragebait but thats ok :))
And yes, I’m doing this in blender.
(I know I said I scrapped the Makima but I may come back to her in the future :P)
In this basically 4 hours of work (it took THAT long??) I positioned the masks right and tried my best to clean them up a little bit. I ended up using one mask as the base like what my face would be and the second was the one that I would print and wear. It took me a while to figure out how to do the skin that like stretches over my actual face, but in the end it all worked out! Sculpting is honestly a lot of fun and I’ll work on it more later. I’m trying to figure out if I’ll be painting it myself or if I’ll have a friend help me out.
So far I’ve got a somewhat usable mask that will be sculpted to be the second face. Some of the face proportions are slightly off, but it’ll actually look even better that way.
worked on a bunch of stuff and managed to get it to export right (I think…?) I accidentally put 250 as end instead of 80 like intended, so i quickly set it to 83 to save it. I think the next step is to make sure it goes with the song correctly then finish!!
So far I’ve been working on rigging, making sure the rig actually functions, adding text, and just in general trying to learn how to make animations in blender, since I’m new to it.
