All done, exported the model, cleaned it up, and everything in between. I will keep it as just a 3D model for Stardance, since I think the painting will be done after Stardance is over. Also because I won’t be the one doing it :) (I cannot paint to save my life) Had a fun time doing the project and all. Side note is that before exporting it, I did inflate some parts of the mask because it was too thin for my slicer to print it. I tried to get around it with settings but didn’t end up doing it. If the paint job and all the primer/sealer stuff does get done before the end of Stardance, I’ll put a picture of it as a comment.

NOW A GUIDE FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO DO THIS THEMSELF!!!

1. If you don’t have blender get it. If you do have blender, GET IT OPEN!!
2. get a good picture of your face. This also means move any hair out of your forehead. Also no pretty angles or anything, this isn’t your new profile picture. Get a straight simple picture. Also no makeup on.
3. upload it to makerworld’s Statue maker. link: https://makerworld.com/en/makerlab/makeMyStatue
4. take your stl and make it so only the face is there. This is pretty chill light work in blender, its just lwk tedious. If you’re doing it outside of blender, how? I literally told you to open blender. (if there are holes fix it now. trust me, you’ll thank me later)
5. size your mask appropriately. This means it should match your face’s size. You’re not making yourself a miniature.
6. duplicate your mask file and then use one of them as your face and the other as the actual mask.
7. position it. have the eye overlap and like have the mask be tilted. google tomie split face if you need a reference image.
8. cut out the eye hole. Believe it or not, you’ll still need to SEE!
9. open up sculpt mode. This is the fun part. I used dyntopo on, and the grab, clay, clay layers, smooth, crease sharp, and some other FUN brushes to make the flesh all funny looking. You can do it however you want tho. This is the creative part :)
10. export the stl. If you run into issues like there being too many holes/improper stl, run it thru some stl fixers. if its too thin and isn’t rendering in your slicer, inflate it a bit.
11. print it!
12. sand it!
13. prime it! I will most likely use spray on sealer because it’s easier, but you can probably paint it on? Wouldn’t recommend it tho.
14. paint it! Make it either black/white like the manga or fleshy and gross and all. Acrylic paint probably works best.
15. seal it! (same thing as priming basically. Try to use a matte sealer tho, unless you want it to be super shiny??)
16. put a strap or smtg. idrc. it’s essentially done and ready to freak people out now. I would recommend actually getting a nice and pretty outfit tho, since it’s Tomie, and probably making it so your hair or a wig is on it.
