Slow progression :gary_moment_slow:

Hey guys!
Unfortunately, I’ve been really busy with school since it started, so I can’t work as much as before.
Today all I could do is being able to select the meals, and I also fixed the filters not showing up.

Right now, I am mostly focusing on the JavaScript rather than the CSS, but I will work on it too once I finish with the important parts.

Byeee thanks for reading! :heart-eng:

Nothing works :sad-apple: :sad-apple:

Hi guys!

Sooo today I tried adding the filters for the search, but it doesn’t really work. I don’t know why, but all the filters do not show. I will look into this tomorrow since today I don’t have any time for it…

Hopefully I will get it working quickly so I can start working some more on the styling.

That’s everything for today, thanks for reading!!

API is working :yay: :yay:

Hey guys!

Today I worked a bit more with the API and I think I now fully understand how it works. Now when clicking Lunch and Dinner, the results will have many different dishes ranging from Seafood to Chicken meals. Ignore the style for now because that’s just to test everything.

Also, I am planning to add a filter where you can select categories manually so you can filter meals based on your preferences and if you can’t find anything appealing in the starting page, you can always use the search bar, which now isn’t really working but I’ll do it sooner or later :)

Thank you, guys, as always for reading :cute-music:
Have a great day!!

Work in progress :dance_catgirl:

Hello everyone!
Today I explored TheMealDB which I will use to fetch all meals. Right now, I started experimenting with it, so what you see will be gone in the next devlogs.

So right now, I just have it working on the Breakfast button, because it’s the easiest one since TheMealDB has a category breakfast and I can simply request it like that. For Lunch and Dinner there are no dedicated categories, and I will implement a menu where you can choose different kind of meals, like Pasta, Chicken, Seafood and so on, and will fetch the meals based on the choices.

That’s everything for today. In the upcoming days I will be slower in posting devlogs and writing code because school is starting… :cryign: so I won’t have as much free time as I did until now.

Bye!! Thanks for reading :heart-grin:

What’s Fresh? :miku-spin:

Hii guys!
So today I randomly woke up thinking about something to complete the Frictionless mission, and so I thought about doing a Meal Planner application. You basically can:

  • Plan what you’re going to eat today, you can do this in the morning, this way you won’t have to worry about it in the morning
  • Plan your whole week! You can select meals for each day of the week. So if you select noodles for lunch on Monday, if you check the app on Monday morning, you will already see on the “Today’s Meals” page what you had planned before.

I think that could be useful for some people, or at least me, because I never plan my meals and end up last minute having to decide :cryign:

Also, one feature I think I’ll add, is to take all the ingredients needed for the meals you chose and generate a grocery list, so you won’t have to manually check each single one and waste time doing it yourself.

I attached a picture of what I did now, I’m not too sure about the colors, I love the green and cream (if that’s cream) color but let me know about it! I am willing to change the palette.

Bye guys! Have a great day :) :yay: :yay:

Ship

This is the updated version of my personal website. At first it was quite simple since I was still learning, but now, after many other projects I upgraded it and also used the grant to buy a proper domain.
In this website there are different sections:

  • About me, to learn more about… me.
  • Interests, here I listed my interests divided in categories.
  • Projects, a page dedicated entirely to show all the projects I did
  • Gallery, page where I upload some pictures that I took and find good enough to share them.
  • Blog, well, a blog.
  • 8 devlogs
  • 17h
  • 7.91x multiplier
  • 137 Stardust

Hii guys! :yay:
I couldn’t work much in these last days but I finally managed to finish the Blog!

I created it under a subdomain, https://blog.nokira.dev , and in the Home page you can see the “Latest Blog Post” to get a preview.
If anyone has something to suggest, please comment! I am always happy to hear feedback or things to add :)

Projects page! :blobfoxcomfycomputer:

Hii!
Today I worked only on doing the Projects page and it was quite easy since I took most of the code from the Gallery and adapted it.

In the next days I will polish everything and start working on finishing the home page.

Thank you all for reading! :)

Gallery! :tw_frame_with_picture: :blobfoxcamera:

Hii everyone!!
Today I spent quite some time on the Gallery.
It’s just a page where I put some pictures that I took in the last years, nothing crazy, but I spent A LOT of time between the styling and finding way to load all the photos without having the page lagging. And while it’s easy, I tried at first the hardest method… which didn’t work that much, and only after that I found how to do it properly, so yeah…

Also, I tweaked some properties for smaller screens and changed the background, I think I like this one more.

Let me know if you have any suggestions!! I always read the comments :)

P.S. The site is now live! nokira.dev

Thank you, guys, for reading! Have a great week!! :miku-spin:

More styling.. :yay: :yay:

Hii guys!
Sooo today I didn’t work that much, but I changed some of the CSS and now this is how the page looks like. If anyone has suggestions, feel free to comment!

Also, I have a question, does anyone know why the website seems to lag during the scrolling on Edge, while it works completely fine on Chrome and Firefox?

This is it for today, tomorrow I’ll definitely start working on the gallery, I gathered some ideas today.

Byeee!! Thanks for reading :)

Styling :cat-boogie: :miku:

Sooo hi again!

In this hour here is what I did:

  • Added Background
  • Added Colors
  • Added Images & GIFs
  • Added Dividers

To be honest it was quite easy to make the layout. The hardest part was searching online for the graphics!!
There are so many resources out there, but I felt like only a few of them deserved to be used on this website. I guess I spent 1 or 2 hours going around hundreds of sites to get all the elements needed (and I don’t think I’m done).

I don’t really have a plan for tomorrow, but I’ll probably create the projects section. Also, I was thinking of making a gallery too, to share some of the pictures I took that I like the most :yay:

Thank you, guys, as always for the support and for reading the devlogs!! :)

Barebones :skulk:

Hi everyone!!
I’ve started working on the overall layout.
I think it’s coming together, slowly, but it’s already something.

I added all my interests and wrote kind of a long paragraph for the about me section, so I hid by default, this way the page doesn’t feel too crowdy.
I will now work more on the styling. Find some cool elements to add, a palette, and a background.

Thank you for reading!! :)

New beginning 🌐

Hii everyone!
So, I finally decided to spend my domain grant, and I bought the nokira.dev.
Now I am reworking the entire website to a whole different style. Hopefully I will come up with something permanent and beautiful.

I will work a bit slowly compared to usual, but something will come… :)

README

Hii everyone!! :miku:
Today I wrote the README file for github and also made the firmware using QMK, but I forgot to record it XD

So if everything works correctly the keys should be mapped like this:

┌──────┬──────┬──────┐
│ PREV │ PLAY │ NEXT │
│──────┼────── │──────│
│ F13 │ F14 │ LOCK │
└──────┴──────┴──────┘

Where each function is:

  • PREV > Previous Media
  • PLAY > Play or Stop current Media
  • NEXT > Next Media
  • F13 > Free Macro Mey
  • F14 > Free Macro Key
  • LOCK > Lock Screen

I will ship the design and see. If everything works and I get the grants, next devlog will be once I get all the stuff to actually build it :)

Byeee thanks for reading!! :yay:

I HATE DESIGNING :rage-scream:

Hi..!
Today as I said, I did what should have been the case for my hackpad. I thought it would have been something fast, a few hours.

BUT NO.

It took me 5 hours and a half to do THIS awful thing, IT’S NOT EVEN A CASE. I tried doing a normal one but I couldn’t. I never understood (and will never understand) how to model stuff and so I did this.
Open case hackpad it is….

Btw I started this session at 13:27 and I finished now at 21:39. I will never touch Fusion again after this pain.

But… anyway. Let me know what you think, I know it kinda sucks but yeah…
Thanks for reading :)

LEDs !!

Hey guys!! I managed to add the LEDs :)
Turns out it was pretty easy but it took me quite some time because looking online I couldn’t find one answer so I had to ask on the Slack channel.

But anyway. Other than the LEDs I rerouted everything :yay: It felt kinda messy so I deleted all connections and started from zero. Now I’m much happier with the result. Surely, if someone is more experienced, to him it might not look that good, but it does to me and for being my first ever time I am very proud :)
I plan on now moving to the case design which I hope to finish before the end of the week.

Overall I am VERY satisfied of what I did today, and also I am liking this A LOT, maybe more than coding… crazy.

Thank you all for reading this :loveparrot:
Have a wonderful day :)

LEDs ??

Hello again everyone!!
I spent some time looking around the internet and other macropads, and this gave me the need to add LEDs to my project, and so I tried.

I hopefully connected them in the right way in the schematic but still don’t know how to place them on the PCB. If anyone knows, PLEASE PLEASE, leave a comment <3, I will try to search online tomorrow to find how to make it.

Also I basically removed all the connections in the schematic and used even more labels, since it looks way cleaner this way.

I really hope I am able to finish the PCB soon with a layout I like so I can move to designing, which will be another new world for me :D

Thanks for reading!! Have a great day :miku:

First time!

Hiii everyone!
Today I wanted to try something new. All my projects are software related because that’s what I have been doing for the past years, but today I wanted to explore some hardware, so I started the Hackpad mission. In the attached screenshot is the result of what I managed to do in roughly 1 hours and a half.

Before starting this, and before tracking any time, I did watch this video to understand how KiCad worked and how to make a simple 3x3 keyboard. Then I just looked up some ideas and came up with my own design, picked the components and started doing mine.

Ship

This is the fixed version of TomType. I tried listening to every single one of the reviews left on the first ship so here are the new features:

  • Mutually exclusive time and word modes: Now you can only select the Time or the Word amount. If you select the time you will get infinite words and the game will finish when time runs out. If you select the Word amount, you will have unlimited time but a fixed amount of words.
  • Mute sounds button: someone didn’t like the sounds playing so I decided to add a button to mute everything, hopefully this is enough :)
  • Survival mode: someone suggested adding an unlimited time mode were you are limited by mistake so your objective is to type all the words selected by making less than 5 mistakes, or else the game ends.
  • Split JS code: not really a feature but as someone correctly pointed out all the code was in one big file, so I split some minor code additions to other files.
