Hey, I have been working a lot on the Tamil Cinema OS. Here’s what I have done. I first started off by creating another app. I wanted to make another game to sharpen my skills, so I decided to make the bubble shooter game. During this, I was able to learn a lot of new functions such as the Math functions and the degtorad functions. These functions allowed me to both control the angle that the player is aiming and control the way the aimed bubble ricochets. This was a little challenging for me because both of these were very new, so I had a difficult time trying to figure out how to use them in correlation with player inputs. Next steps would be to polish the whole OS.

Hey guys! I have been working a lot on the Recipe Finder. Here’s what I have done: I started off by starting the second page of the site. This is a platform where you can search the recipes you have, and based on the answer, the platform will give you a suitable recipe. The challenging part for this was that I couldn’t find an API that was free. To solve this problem, I had to input all of the recipes into an array and then use the filter and sort functions to see what ingredients from the query match the recipe. This was a little hard because inputting all of those recipes by hand was a little hard, but I was able to find a website that had these short recipes that I modified. Next steps would be to finish of polishing the whole website.

Hey guys! I have been working a lot on the Recipe finder. Here’s what I have done so far. I started off by finishing the first page by creating all of the styles. I wanted to go for a look that organizes the recipes into boxes, and the overall design should be pretty minimalistic. The only part of this that was challenging was trying to figure out whether I wanted a dark aesthetic or light aesthetic. After that, I also started the second part of the recipe finder, which would allow the user to be able to find recipes based on a list of ingredients they have. This is proving to be a little difficult because I can use the same API for this, but that limits me to only having one main ingredient, so I might have to look into another way to do such. Next steps would be to figure out a way to integrate multiple ingredients into the search query.

Hey guys! This is my first devlog for the Recipe finder. I wanted to make a website for finding any recipe on hand that would also be able to find videos as well as other sources for the food. For this, I knew I needed to use an API, so I started off by creating the first layout of the page. I decided to work on the styles after I got the logic of the website down. After the HTML setup, I moved onto the actual logic of the app. This was challenging for me because I had never used an API before, so I had to do some research before getting started. After that, I used localstorage to just load up an existing recipe. After this, I used the query function to actually start finding recipes. This was also challenging for me because I had to figure out where to implement the results from the API, which is where I learned to use the .join function for combining strings. Next steps would be to make the website look better, and maybe even add a seperate page for trying to make recipes using ingredients in your fridge.

Hey guys! I have been working a lot on the Warioware game. Here’s what I have done so far. I started off by creating and finishing the fourth game, which was the flappy bird game. This game was a decent challenge, but I was able to figure it out in the end. I used a player scene (CharacterBody 2D), then an obstacle scene (Area2D), and finally a main game scene. From there, I just combined each of the elements and their respective scripts. One challenge that I faced with this was trying to get the score working for it. Since the score would have to be referenced into two different scripts, I remembered that I could use a Global variable, which allowed me to easily reference the score in both scripts which allowed the game to flow smoothly to the next scenes. I learned a lot through this game. Next steps would be just to finish any polishing steps.

Hey guys! I have been working a lot on the WarioWare game. Here’s what I have done so far. I started off by creating the third game, which would be a catcher game, where the player would move across the x-axis to catch all of the garlic. I did this by combining three different scenes, where one scene was the player, the next was the garlic spawner, and the final one was the entire minigame scene. I learned a lot through this game because it introduced me to how something like a spawner would be created in Godot, where you would have to use a timer, and then load an Sprite2D with a CollisionShape2D attached to it. The next steps would be to create the final game, which I am thinking to be a flappy bird game.

Hey guys! I have been working a lot on the Tamil Cinema OS. Here’s what I have done: I started off by creating and finishing the seventh app, which is a music player. This music player has a playlist of many Tamil Cinema hits. To create this, I first had to use for the first time to play the audio. From there, I created an array that would cycle through the different songs and their respective cover pictures. For the styling, I wanted it to be kind of similar to how a Spotify player would look, so I had to create a rectangular container and create adequate buttons and styles for the app. Overall, I was able to learn a lot about how audio is referenced in HTML through this app. After this, I just polished up all the other apps, which included the calculator and the games, where I was able to get the clear button working on the calculator and also get the scores working on the games. Overall, I was able to learn a lot in these devlogs about the variety of hidden functions inside HTML. Next steps would just be to finish polishing any of the other apps.

Hey guys! I have been working a lot on the Tamil Cinema OS. Here’s what I have got done: I started off with finishing off the fifth app, which would be Youtube. I decided that it would be better to allow the viewer to watch a playlist instead of the whole browser, as it would also match my theme because now, the viewer gets to wtach trailer of Tamil movies. I did this using the youtubeiframeAPI. This allowed me to get the exact version of Youtube, but also customizable to my liking. After this, I used an array with all of the video IDs and made a function that would cycle through the videos. Overall, it was a good learning experience for me with these new features. The next thing I did was make a fun facts page. This had a bunch of different fun facts about Tamil Cinema. I did this by creating a caption carousel. I used an index, and used that to cycle through the different facts. Overall, I learned a lot about the different functions within HTML and also about video playback in this devlog. Next steps would be to create my next app, which would be a music player with some good Tamil songs.

Hey guys! I have been working a lot on the Tamil Cinema OS. Here’s what I have done so far: The main thing I have been trying to accomplish is trying to create my fifth app, which would be Youtube. I have gotten all of the controls for the actual app icon all done, but I still need to work on trying to get it to connect. I tried using and then using the URL of Youtube, but that didn’t really work, as it refused to connect. I am trying to research some different ways I can try to attach the application. The other things I have been doing would just be trying to add some scores in the games I created. I am having a little hard time, as sometimes the score only updates the first time. Next steps would just be trying to get the fifth app done.

Hey guys! I have been working a lot on the Tamil Cinema OS so far. Here’s what I have done so far: I started off by creating my third feature, which is the breakout game. This is where there are tiles you must break with a bouncing ball. I decided that instead of keeping the game’s code inside the original index file, I would keep it as a different file and then use to link those two files together. I also decided to implement these features into the other apps. The code for this project wasn’t that hard, as I was able to use my previous game development experience to help with most of the parts, but there were some aspects, like the tiles and their Arrays that I had a little trouble with. After this, I created the calculator app. This app was pretty simple, as it was just a bunch of buttons and some functions in Javascript. The hard part about this would be figuring out what type of style I wanted for it. Next steps would be to start and finish up the fifth app, and maybe polish some of the other apps as well.

Hey guys! I have been working a lot on my personal site! Here’s what I have done: I got all of my information down first for all of the different pages. After that, I decided to start polishing up the website by creating the styles and the different parts of my website’s design. In this part, I also decided to add a background that changes frequently. Through this, I was able to further understand the use of arrays and how they can work with arrays. After that, I started making my styles that would occur after you hover on to a certain object. I decided it would be nice if they kind of expanded and also turned transparent when you hovered over the objects. Finally, I also started to create an image carousel for my interests section of my website. This was a little easier as I already kind of did this with the background, but I also learned how to use captions for it. Next steps would be to just put any final touches.

Hey guys! This is my first devlog for the personal website. Here’s what I got done: I started off by figuring out what type of site I was trying to make, and what the different pages would look like. I have a decent idea of what I am going to do, but for now, I have just done the framework of all of the pages. I have been able to input all of the info onto two of the three pages that I will have, and it wasn’t that hard, as I have a little more experience after the other projects I have done so far. The website so far is a really simple framework, as I will be working on the styles soon. Next steps would be to get my info done on all three pages, and then start to style and polish the rest of the website.

Hey guys! I have been working a lot on the Tamil Cinema OS. Here’s what I have done so far: I have finally finished the second feature of the Tamil Cinema OS, which is the Snake Game. I learned how to code this directly into the HTML file. Originally, I thought I would have to create a new file with the game code, but after some research, I learned I could just put it into the original file. The code for this game was a little difficult, as I was having a little trouble with the part where I would have to generate the new apple when it was eaten. After some research, I learned how to use a random number generator in correlation to the grids of the game to have the apples spawn in a different place. I also decided in the end that the snake would be able to go through walls and would only die if it bumped into itself. I learned a lot through this game, especially how to use a variety of functions in HTML. Next steps would be to polish the website off for final touches.

Hey guys! I have been working a lot on the Tamil Cinema OS. Here’s what I have done so far. I have finally finished my first app, which is the notes app. I wanted to kind of make this app like a guide for a first- time viewer, so it has things like recommendations for different movies, and also has things like the history of Tamil Cinema. I have also added some parts to the app that talk about Tamil music as well. This kind of took me a long time because it was a little hard for me to try and figure out what type of app I wanted to make originally, and there were a lot of bugs that I only figured out after looking closely at my variable declaration. i had accidentally deleted the aspect of the app that changed the cursor type to a pointer, but I didn’t know until a long time after, which is why there is so much time spent on this devlog. I have learned a lot about Javascript in this time, as it has introduced me to arrays and how they should be used, especially for the feature of my notes app that allows the viewer to see all of the notes. Next steps would be to create a second app. I am thinking of a game of some sort, but I haven’t completely thought it out.
