PRATHAMESH.EXE — building my own little corner of the internet ✦

There’s something special about creating a place on the internet that feels entirely your own.

PRATHAMESH.EXE started with a simple idea: what if my portfolio felt less like a résumé and more like stepping into a tiny digital world?

Inspired by the early internet, Y2K aesthetics, and old-school terminal interfaces, I’ve been shaping it with dark backgrounds, neon pink and purple, pixel typography, and a boot sequence that makes opening a website feel a little like starting up a computer from another era.

But I don’t want it to be nostalgia for the sake of nostalgia. I want it to grow with me — a home for my projects, experiments, ideas, and everything I’m still figuring out how to build.

Along the way, I’m learning that good design is about more than making something look interesting. Every animation, font, and interaction should have a purpose.

There’s still plenty to build, break, rethink, and improve. And honestly, that’s my favourite part.

For now, the system is booting.

I wanted to make my personal website feel less like a standard portfolio and more like a little digital world of its own. I went with a Y2K-inspired aesthetic, using a black background, neon pink and purple accents, Press Start 2P, and Space Mono to create that retro terminal feel.

I also worked on the startup sequence, with messages like “INITIALISING SYSTEM…” and “LOADING STARFIELD…”, alongside a terminal-inspired layout for blog posts and development logs.

One of the main things I’m trying to get right is balancing the visual effects with usability. I want the website to have personality without becoming cluttered or difficult to navigate.

Next up: refining the responsive layout, polishing the interactions, and making the project sections feel more complete.

~ COEUS IS OUT!!
Coeus is a machine-learning application that explores how data science can help distinguish potential exoplanets from false-positive detections in NASA’s Kepler mission catalogue. Using ten astronomical and stellar features, including orbital period, transit duration, transit depth, planetary radius, and host-star properties. Coeus analyses patterns in Kepler Objects of Interest (KOIs) and predicts whether each object is classified as a planetary candidate or a false positive.

Built using Python and logistic regression, the project combines data preprocessing, predictive modelling, classification-threshold experiments, performance evaluation, and scientific visualisation. It investigates how measurable transit characteristics contribute to classification while examining

Coeus — Kepler Exoplanet Classification

  • Explored and cleaned NASA’s Kepler Objects of Interest (KOI) dataset.
  • Analysed 6,816 observations containing planetary candidates and false positives.
  • Selected 10 numerical features, including orbital period, transit duration, transit depth, planetary radius, and stellar properties.
  • Built a logistic regression model to classify planetary candidates and false positives.
  • Evaluated model performance using accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and a confusion matrix.
  • Investigated the effects of classification thresholds on candidate detection.
  • Visualised transit depth against orbital period to examine patterns and overlap between the two classes.
  • Identified limitations caused by class imbalance and overlapping feature distributions.
  • Worked on interpreting predictions cautiously, recognising that classification does not confirm the existence of an exoplanet.

:Built out modular project routing across stardance.html, blog.html, and common-ground.html. Implemented a custom 3D perspective tilt engine for DOM elements using event-driven mouse coordinate mapping. Handled dynamic bounding rect recalculations (getBoundingClientRect()) to compute normalized hover offsets and apply real-time rotateX/rotateY CSS transforms. Added clean event cleanup via mouseleave listeners to instantly purge inline transform styles on blur.

Architecture & Layout Progress:Retro-Futuristic Visual Engine: Engineered a dark-mode cyberpunk aesthetic using custom pixel typography (THOUGHTS. STORIES. REAL LIFE.), neon pink accent palettes, and a faint background grid overlay. Interactive Game Boy Graphic Component: Rendered a high-fidelity vector hand-held console displaying a pixel art night skyline, complete with dynamic control buttons and custom branding (PRATHAMESH.EXE). Modular Navigation Infrastructure: Built top-level routing for main sections: HOME, BLOG, PROJECTS, ABOUT, and CONTACT.
