MI-23 Devlog #1 - Settings App - Boot Screen
Development Log – June 13, 2026
Hey everyone, this project has been long in the making, and I haven’t posted here yet, but today I focused on improving the overall user experience and reliability of the MI-23.
New Features
- Added a Settings app.
- Added persistent settings so preferences are saved between launches.
- Added a startup boot screen.
- Added basic boot diagnostics to check that settings and storage are working correctly.
Improvements
- Settings now automatically load when the calculator starts.
- Invalid or missing settings are reset to safe defaults.
- Improved project structure to make future features easier to add.
Looking Ahead
Next steps include:
- Building a proper filesystem for apps and user data.
- Adding themes and more settings options.
- Expanding boot diagnostics and recovery tools.
- Continuing work on the graphing application.
