the best of both worlds!
im bringing back the esp and the motor controller. i will use the already great software from beta flight to calculate orientation and the esp will turn that into motor output. the only reason i was shying away from this was because the motor didnt spin as fast as i had wanted, but now its my only option so…

ALL OF THE HARDWARE IS USELESS
i have recently realized that the motor controller ive been using is incapable of going fast, what i also realized is that i can reprogram my drones flight controller that has everything i need for this project…
i will now put all effort into programming my flight controller instead, this is huge.

so far I’ve soldered on header pins for my modules, I’ve got some basic code that just displays the measurements I get from the imu. I’ve also prototyped 3 fly wheels, all hand cut, polished, and drilled by me from a rod of plain steel. next i have to print a casing for the fly wheel to attach it to the motor, as well as getting the motor wired to the motor controller so i can start plugging in some values i get from the imu.

I finally finished the CAD!

Today I finally finished the 3D CAD model of my balancing robot called AXIS!

I had some setbacks and difficulties along the way, but that’s normal! Eventually I found a solution for all of them!

That’s exactly what engineering is about!

Let’s get printing

I made a bomb defusal game featuring snipable wires, a customed designed spraying mechanism, and a case to go around the ardunio which doubles as a holder for the beeper. this project made me get comfortable with modeling around real objects, and writing ardunio code.

the core of the project is done! using the updated code and a hot glued support below the main servo holder the project just needs a case to hide the electronics.
