Completed Ki-Pad
I firstly added 12 MX2A-H1NA switches to the schematic. I wired them in a matrix-style configuration. To prevent current from flowing in reverse and the switches debouncing, I added 12 IN4148W diodes too. Then, I added two rotary encoders. I used the PEC11R-4220F-S0024. I also wanted to add RGB LEDs so I used the SK6812MINI-E. The operate on 5V and need a min 3.5V to toggle. So, I added a 74AHCT1G125 too, with it’s de-cap. All RGB-LEDs also have their own 100nF de-caps. For the MCU, I decided to use the RP2040, specifically the Waveshare RP2040 Zero. I couldn’t use the Seed Studio Xiao as it fell short by 1 GPIO. After thqat was dome, I started placing components for the PCB. The was quite simple, and the routing wasn’t tough either. After routing, I placed GND and power planes on both layers. The 3d render looked good too. then, I started writing the README. The README explains a lot of things, it’s name, features, how I selected components, why I couldn’t present this as a Hack Pad and much more. I also generated the production outputs and committed them.
