A market prediction simulator
A market prediction simulator
Hey! Just a quick update on the stock market prediction simulator, as I was testing it to look for any final changes to be made I found some weird calculation quirks in the prediction algorithm and fixed a few event listener bugs that were causing UI lag, I have now optimized the JavaScript loops running the simulation data so it feels much smoother and more responsive. Everything seems to be working completely find now and it is officially ready to ship!
In the past 10 hours I was so invested in finishing my project I forgot to post a devlog every hour! Well completing my prediction simulator was a massive milestone that has pushed me far beyond basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript tutorials into building a genuinely feature rich, real time financial application. To pull this off I had to master several advanced concepts with no prior experience like HTML’s canvas API as I had to ues programs to calculate bounding boxes as well as auto scale dynamic y axes to draw real time line chart grids and render smooth anmiations. One challenge I faced was trying to add strong state management structuers to smoothly synvh asset price fluctuations with user portfolios without causing race conditions or memory leaks. I also had to explore the browsers web audio API utilizing oscillators and gain nodes to synthesize clean, dynamic sound effects for trades and alerts without using external audio files. This project has taught me so much and it was such a great learning experience!
The stock prediction simulator will be my largest project yet. I have to go super deep into structuring a financial web app and laying down the core layout. I spent hours trying to figure out how to set up clean elements for real time ticker feeds, interactive prediction areas, etc. Along the way, I have been improving my understanding in DOM structure, semantic tags, and how to organize clean layouts that can easily handle dynamic data that would be useful in the future. I plan to design and build interactive charts next integrating libraries to visualize historical stock data and user forecast trends in real time.
