ISO_VERSE

What did you make?
–> I made a personal portfolio website from scratch to showcase my bio, coding projects, and my own blog writing. Everything is neatly organized inside a folder called ISO_VERSE with clean, separate HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files, and it’s deployed live on the internet using GitHub Pages!
What was challenging?
–> Honestly, the biggest challenge was the structural cleanup. I originally built the entire website with the HTML, CSS, and JS all lumped together in a single file because it felt easier at the start. Figuring out how to properly split everything into separate files, link the paths correctly so the text animations didn’t break, and rename my files so GitHub Pages would actually recognize it as a live website was a massive learning curve. It felt like a mess for a bit, but pushing through that and organizing it professionally taught me a ton.
What are you proud of?
–> I’m incredibly proud of the custom navigation bar animations and the overall color contrast grading. I used AI as a debugging mentor to help me refine about 10 small visual bugs and get the code for those custom transitions working smoothly. Seeing those animations function perfectly on a live URL after all the trial-and-error feels amazing. I’m also proud that my GitHub commit history shows my whole journey from a rough draft to a finished project.
What should people know so they can test your project?
–>Because everything is organized inside a dedicated production directory, the live link requires you to look inside the folder! When you open my GitHub Pages URL, please make sure you include /ISO_VERSE/ at the very end of the link (like https://kumarishan0825.github.io/ISO_VERSE/ISO_VERSE/), otherwise it won’t load the homepage properly. Once you’re in, check out the smooth animations on the navigation bar!
