The Parallax Node

The Parallax Node is my personal engineering portfolio, designed to look and feel like a high-tech digital terminal. It is a small, creative project rather than a formal corporate site, built entirely from scratch using vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I coded a custom, interactive canvas particle network to give it a dark, holographic aesthetic without relying on heavy frameworks. Ultimately, it serves as a lightweight, fast space to showcase my active hardware and software builds—like the KAR & EVE Lab—and connect with other systems engineers.

I built The Parallax Node, which is basically a dope digital terminal portfolio to flex my hardware and software projects like the KAR & EVE Lab. Ngl, avoiding heavy frameworks and coding it purely in vanilla HTML, CSS, and JS was crazy hard. The biggest pain was building that custom HTML5 Canvas particle engine entirely from scratch. Figuring out the exact math so the background nodes calculate distance and dynamically connect to my cursor without lagging the whole site was lowkey a massive headache, fr.

I’m proud asf of how the glassmorphism UI turned out, tbh. Layering those deep blur filters over the canvas creates this insane 3D depth effect that looks awesome. Lemme tell you how to test it: just pull up the live link on a desktop rn and move your mouse to watch the nodes track you!
