Study OS — Devlog 3

Big one today, put in 7h 24m and got a lot done, mostly with some help from YouTube tutorials to figure out stuff I was stuck on.

New stuff added

• Added a search bar up top for quick navigation
• Split the sidebar into proper sections — Study OS (Dashboard, Focus, Planner) and School (Assignments, Exams, Notes, Flashcards)
• Sidebar’s looking way more organized now compared to before

The bug that almost killed me

Spent a good chunk of today troubleshooting the older features (Dashboard/Planner) because they kept taking input but just… not showing it anywhere. No errors, nothing, just silently not working which was honestly more annoying than an actual crash.

Can’t fully explain what fixed it but after digging around for a while I finally got rid of it. Sometimes you just gotta stare at the code long enough until it gives up.

What’s next

• Planning on adding a lot of new features tomorrow
• Still got Assignments, Exams, Notes, and Flashcards to actually build out (rn they’re just sitting in the sidebar looking pretty)
