working on the practice-quiz page for papermind today. it generates mcq + written questions from a doc at easy/medium/hard, auto-checks the mcqs and has the llm grade written answers. hit a dumb syntax error while wiring up the saved-quiz loading — left a bracket unclosed — took a sec to spot. fixed and moving on. still need the groq key plugged in before it actually generates anything.
Building PaperMind — a local RAG study assistant. Backend’s coming together: PDF ingestion with page-accurate parsing + heading detection, structure-aware chunking, and hybrid retrieval (FAISS embeddings + BM25, fused with RRF and a cross-encoder re-rank). All persisted in SQLite. Next up: the Q&A + quiz generation and the UI. 🚀
