Devlog #1: Over the last 5 days, I started building CosmoNote, a space-inspired website which helps students organize their notes, ideas, tasks, and projects. I created the basic homepage using HTML and CSS which isn’t completed yet. Chose a space-themed design and began building my “card” that will eventually represent different note categories. I am a beginner when it comes to HTML coding and therefore, I learned new elements such as the and properties like display and flex, padding, spacing, margin. One problem I encountered was that my images were not lining up so I had to fix it using the flex. I am following a Youtube video to get my information which is why it is taking me much longer than it should be to complete such simple code. Huge disclaimer, this isn’t the only code I have completed, I did a whole 3 other systems which are connecting to this website. I learned using the youtube video tutorial basic CSS and HTML structures. However, I am adapting the techniques into my own project as I keep changing key points. I also learned how to use Git and GitHub today. I created my first commits, and made a terminal text to fix my repository and deployed the website using GitHub pages. Seeing my first ever hand-made website becoming publicized is making me very happy and I hope everyone tries it out and supports me in my journey. The picture/screenshot I am sending is just showing a part of my code and all the different coding files I was needing.
