so I messed up…
I was able to learn how to use Altium (using student license) transitioning from KiCAD, but I kind of ignored all the keep out zones of my components. I was only paying attention to the MCU’s keepout zone. But anyways I wanted to make another version to see if I can make it better so I’ll see!

welcome to Silent Pillow Buzzer, intended to be a silent alarm to wake myself up via vibration motor so that it doesn’t wake up anyone else around me.
.
Of course, I wanted to make it small enough to fit inside of an air-tag sized case so that it can fit easily inside a pillow case.
.
Initial problems & solutions:
Pillow Density - to account for certain positions that the airtag might be placed under varying thicknesses of pillows, I intend to add a Force Sensitive Resistor (FSR) that can automatically gauge the necessary amount of vibrational strength needed to wake up
.
Battery Life - Inside the case will fit a lipo battery. Many modules have been added to account for BMS including USBC accommodations and simple power management practices although this takes significant space on the board, so I might look into mag charge.
.
Sleep Research - Although I don’t know anything about the frequency / power related to waking people up, there’s already numerous sleep research out there that I can easily access. This will be put into the program when I move past the hardware phase and maybe develop an app or program to manage settings and set a clock
.
Since this is V1, I wanted to start simple so I found the MDBT50Q-1MV2 chip which includes Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and suitable pins for my project… maybe a bit too many. And of course in the future I might try minimize that to save costs and maybe learn about how to improve the MCU itself.
.
In my last project I had an MCU with BMS already implemented into it so experiencing it now is definitely something new to struggle with. Especially since I wanted to move from KiCAD to Altium to do this next project.
.
But I believe this project is worth the effort.
