A custom browser-based new tab page designed to make opening a new tab more useful, interactive, and personalized. The project combines a custom UI with useful information, quick-access tools, and interactive features, all built from scratch with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The goal is to create a polished new tab experience that feels like a real application rather than a basic homepage.

The project features a fully custom HTML/CSS/JavaScript interface with interactive functionality and a design built from scratch. I focused on making it feel like a polished replacement for the default new tab page rather than just a static website.
I continued working on the new tab page and focused on turning the project from a basic prototype into something that actually feels like a finished website. I spent this session improving the styling and layout, fixing some smaller UI issues, and making the different interactive elements work together more smoothly. I also added and refined the main functionality of the page so it feels useful when opening a new tab instead of just being a static design .A lot of the time went into testing everything in the browser and making small adjustments to the CSS and JavaScript. I wanted the interface to feel consistent across the different parts of the page, so I kept refining spacing, sizing, and interactions as I found things that looked or behaved awkwardly.
I’ve been working through the first parts of the Give Your Website a Pulse mission and have started turning the basic new tab page into a more complete website.So far, I’ve worked on the main HTML structure, built the custom layout, and started styling the interface with my own CSS rather than relying on a template. I’ve also been adding the JavaScript needed to make the page interactive and behave more like an actual new tab replacement.A big part of this session was getting the different parts of the page to work together while keeping the design clean and consistent. I also spent time testing the page in the browser and fixing small issues as they came up.There’s still some work left before I’m ready to ship, but the main structure and styling are coming together and the project is starting to feel like an actual usable new tab page rather than just a static webpage.
