Eidolon — A living code entity that breathes, mutates, and evolves in real-time inside your text editor. Built entirely in a single zero-dependency HTML file using Notepad, it analyzes your code's structure, complexity, and cleanliness to physically shape its appearance, moods, and emergent behaviors (like naming itself and leaving marks in your code) as you type.

I built Eidolon : a living, breathing digital pet and reactive code-entity packed entirely into a single, zero-dependency HTML file. It bridges the gap between entertainment and engineering by combining an autonomous, state-driven Canvas creature with a fully integrated, real-time code editor interface. You aren’t just playing with a pet; you are hacking its living source code on the fly.

What was challenging?
Architecting complex state management, custom rendering loops, and a dual-pane UI from scratch entirely in raw text editors over weeks. Without heavy frameworks or external libraries to bail me out, every pixel, state transition, and event listener had to be hand-crafted, meticulously optimized, and balanced. Making a creature feel genuinely responsive and alive inside a vanilla single-file environment required solving brutal architectural constraints without modern bloat.

What am I proud of?
The sheer technical elegance and magic of the execution. I managed to pack a complete interactive ecosystem—complete with an organic rendering engine and a live code-injection interface—into a lightweight, self-contained file with zero dependencies. It’s a testament to the fact that elite engineering doesn’t need massive frameworks; it just needs deep architecture and raw execution.

What should people know so they can test your project?
Zero Setup: It runs instantly right in your browser—no installs, no node modules, no configuration.

Live Manipulation: Jump straight into the integrated code editor interface. Tweak the creature’s parameters live and watch the Canvas state update instantly in real-time.

Interactive Triggers: Play around with its reactive behaviors to see how the state machine responds dynamically to your inputs. Give it a spin and see what happens when you break the rules of its code!

Eidolon: A Living, Single-File Code-Entity & Digital Pet I spent weeks architecting and writing the core logic from scratch (originally drafted in raw text editors) before porting, refining, and polishing it into a clean workspace. Eidolon isn’t just a basic script—it’s a sophisticated, fully self-contained browser ecosystem featuring: A Reactive Canvas Creature: Fully autonomous rendering loop with complex state management and adaptive behaviors. An Integrated Code Editor Interface: A built-in dev environment that lets you directly interact with and modify the entity’s parameters in real-time. Zero-Dependency Architecture: Entirely self-contained in a single, high-performance file. I’m submitting this to bring a deeply polished, multi-week conceptual project to life on the platform, showcasing that real engineering happens long before code ever hits a live IDE timer.
