OWL CITY: The (not so) Real World

This is a passion project of mine that I’ve had an idea for a while and I’m super excited to finally be able to work on it. Adam Young, most well known for his most popular project Owl City, is my absolute favourite artist. Instead of being quite depressing and gloomy which you hear a lot of young people wanting to listening to, his Owl City project is all (mostly) upbeat and optimistic and really really dreamy, and I would really recommend you listening to any of his songs. The idea for this game is you explore a big world, maybe play some minigames but most importantly just soak up all his music as you travel by relevant places, and I hope that by the end of the game you will have the same appreciation for his music as I do.
Over the last couple days I worked on the initial player controls for the game as well as basic map layout to try and figure out how I want the game to work. The player character should actually be done for now as I’ve got it exactly how I want it, fully animated and all. The plan is to add more heads that you can swap out, with that being the main objective of the game - collecting different heads. I also spent a lot of time creating an intro that I had an idea for in my head which was really fun to work on and syncs with his song called “The Real World”, which is very apt for the title of this game and you also probably could’ve guessed that’s what the game is named after. I also added the “Adam Young sea”, I don’t remember how this idea came into my head but… it’s there… I guess (but fr tho it’s kinda mesmerising to look at) and it’s literally just his name waving up and down in the ocean.
