Finished Launchpad
Finished working on Launchpad, a simple new tab page which shows the APOD using the NASA api. It was honestly a pretty enjoyable project to do, and I would definetly recommend this as a good starter webdev project. I spent most of my time trying to hide the API keys using vercel serverless functions, which wasn’t necessary but I just decided to to anyways. Anyways here is the project description (which is definetly not copy-pasted from the readme).
Launchpad
A simple new tab page which fetches the astronomical picture of the day using the NASA api.
Features
- Astronomical Picture of the Day: Every day, a new wallpaper will show showing NASA’s astronomical picture of the day.
- Search Engines: There are currently 3 search engines supported: Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo.
- Light/Dark Mode: You can toggle between light/dark mode, or use the system theme.
- Local storage: All settings are saved in localstorage.
- Weather: The current weather will be shown. The API is powered by PirateWeather, and clicking on the widget will redirect you to my other site https://es1228.github.io/OpenSky/
