It’s red like the martians! Just realised that I have not been posting all of this for a long time and I couldn’t leave you guys in the dark. Finally made the 49:1 gearbox and fixed the legs. However, in this robot I feel as though the brace that connects the gearboxes perpendicularly doesn’t make use of the space. Therefore I need to fix that and see how much room the gearboxes take up. TOODLES DUCKAROOS.
Everythings wrong… I’ve just managed to finish the linear actuator mechanism and whilst looking for a motor, I found out that the other motor that I was looking for the hip joint has the wrong torque. Was looking at the 5010 360KV and calculated for the 760KV. I have to redesign the gearbox again, which is not ideal. So I’ll recalculate everything and improve the gearbox. All’s well that ends well!
Finishing the Scapular joint mechanism!!!
Legs are hard.
Just finished with my main vision of what I want it to look like. I’ll change some of the shapes like the camera cap and a bit of the main body but I can do that later.
Session 1: Finding Ratios!
Just started the project after much thought! Just started by looking at different robot dogs that I wanted to draw inspiration from and ask AI to find the dimensions of all of the quadrupedal robot dogs and their ratios. Since I’ve got my own size in mind, this was just to ensure that it didn’t look “clunky.”
