Day 3: Planning out schematics for my music player

  • For now I’ve added the components that I need in the music player, ie. audio DAC, SD socket, OLED display, and charging module. I haven’t decided which types of buttons i want to use yet, so I didn’t add them yet.
  • I decided not to use any breakout boards for the modules to make everything slimmer and compact,
    also to challenge myself
    P.s. this is my second ever project, first one being keeb, of which i just completed. This one has proved to be a heck lot harder and I’m loving it(?)

Hey, I’m trying to build one myself, with an esp 32. Could you pls tell me abt the resources you used to research? Also, which audio module would you recommend?

@Jian

@Nightshade_934 Hey, i use ai to see what components i need, look up parts, then just read through datasheets. I also ask forums and stuff to see what components they recommend. For me, the audio module im using is the pcm5102A, you can use the breakout board to simply things, but im just using the chip itself. It supports up to 32bit, 382kHz. For this module you dont really need an AMP unless you wanna use audiophile earphones.

I see. I was thinking of using a MAX98357A which is a DAC and AMP in one. Also, do you have any suggestions as to add a bluetooth feature?

@Jian

@Nightshade_934 hi, i plan on just using the esp32 chips built in bluetooth
