Patron

Patron is a small Java app I’ve been working on to make a unified store to install any package from any manager.
Excited to show a small project I’ve been working on for a few days.
This devlog is just a small overview I’m pushing out, of the features
I’ve done and will implement soon.

Current features:

  • Effectively every method complete for Flatpak (installation, uninstallation, searching and fetching info for apps)
  • Functional search / search page (though the app info page still needs to be made!)
  • Automatic styling for Qt (KDE) and GTK/Libadwaita (GNOME)

Features soon to be implemented:

  • App info page for installation/uninstallation
  • Grouping of packages with equal names (e.g. apt:discord, pacman:discord, flatpak:com.discordapp.Discord)
  • General configuration settings (e.g. enabling/disabling sources
  • Dependency handling and automatic removal of orphan packages

The app is currently a very vague proof-of-concept (almost every app store is slow and buggy that’s why I’m making this) and will slowly improve as time goes on.

Thanks for reading!
