Dance App

Before you guys review this project poorly for the usage of AI, I would wanna make it clear that i still learnt a really good amount of development. At the end of the day software development is about shaping the user experience and design a product that solved the problem and is worth using. I used AI to aid me with the tedious work that would have otherwise been impossible within my timeframe of less than 2 weeks.

Cutting to the chase this dance game was made for a local competition in my country. The theme for the competition was about how culture can be preserved using technology. The full project also includes a physical arcade style device with a dancing servo robot with 6 joints (excluding knees).

The goal of the project is to act as an entry point for students in Singapore to learn more about cultural dances in Singapore. I chose to approach the preservation of culture via learning cultural dances as it bypasses any linguistic barriers to make it more widely accessible to better serve as an entry point for younger kids to have at least a faint idea on how other cultures are like.

With about 28 hours spent on coding this and countless more on the hardware, ideation, documentation, admin and much more, I managed to clench first place in the competition. I also feel that the current state of the app is satisfactory as a prototype.

Even though quite buggy and somewhat unstable, I would potentially update the project near the end of the year, until then i would be moving onto other projects! I hope yall find this attempt at preserving culture with technology meaningful, fun or at least interesting, thanks for reading!
