Devlog 4. Finished the palm, scaled everything properly and added a functional thumb! Also printed the current design to test whether my assumptions on the finger mechanics are correct, and they absolutely are. Tomorrow I will start working on arrangement of all of my chaotic components!! As always, wish me luck!
Devlog 3! Finally officially finalised the finger design with a connection to the main palm. Also bought myself some sweet sweet metal to make all of the connections because the plastic I used before was frankly pretty bad. Also added a new 4 fingers, and am yet to figure out what the hell to do with the thumb. Biggest issue currently is fitting 10 servos into the incredibly tiny amount of space I have. Wish me luck!
Finished the finger design! After a lot of printing and figuring out what exactly is wrong I finally have a functioning (mechanically) finger. Additionally, worked out a way to make the fingers bend from side to side as well. It will be an absolute pain to make in terms of the mechanical aspect, but maybe just maybe it will end up working. Tomorrow, I will start working on a diagram of everything I need and where it realistically can be placed.
Made one finger with the joint mechanism. Exhausted my snack supply in the process. Who knew Fusion could be just this painfull. But, overall, so far so good, need to add some hooks to the fingers for the fishing line to go through for the fingers to contract and relax.
