Finished the CAD model today!!! (for the most part)
- Corrected OpenRocket Model to include actual, in-stock components (which reminds me I need to start on a BOM)
- Translated OpenRocket Model into an OnShape Model ready for 3D Printing, although I need to buy PETG for the centering rings
I do feel as though the rocket is super long though, but I can’t find shorter Polycarbonate tubes at a reasonable price and good diameter! Also, I have to work on the recovery system tomorrow, as well as figuring out how I’m going to mount the fins (right now I have tabs but am not sure if that’s best practice for literal cardboard).

@rosikur yup hopefully I can build and launch before the 4th of July, @aryanbuilds just experience I guess leading my school’s Space Engineering Club - definetely check out the American Rocketry Challenge!
What engine are you planning on using?
I am working on similar project. I am trying to build self stabilization rocket. I had really simple approach such as getting rocket’s angle and then turning servo’s into opposite direction. As expected rockets does not works this way. So I had to get with more advanced and complex method. Since I have a OpenRocket model I can grab coefficients and use them in equations. Unfortunately this is beyond my ability right now… I am looking taking math 30-1 to figure this out..,
