Today, I worked on writing and debugging the code for bounce.js and index.html. After what felt like a million rounds of testing, switching back and forth between my notebook and VS Code, and going through YouTube videos to learn more about game logic, I finally started making real progress. So far, bounce.js has definitely been the most challenging file to work on. It took a lot of trial and error to fix the bugs and get different parts of the game working correctly, but each small breakthrough made the effort worthwhile. Although it was frustrating at times and I had to watch Youtube videos (AGAIN!) to keep me working on it more and my dream of getting a product I wanted since days, I learned a lot about debugging, game logic, and how even tiny mistakes in code can affect the entire program.
Hi! This is my first devlog for this project, and today I designed some elements of the game. Though I forgot to record me designing it and the time, but it was a well-spent approximately 3.5 hours of time. I designed the screen for the game, and some other simple details, including the entry screen of the game.
To introduce my project, it is about a game that includes games inspired by retro // Nokia games. For Stage 1, and as I’m not that good at coding games for now, the only games that will be listed and be-coded are: Snake, Bounce, and Tetris!
In addition, the designs were inspired by Pinterest posts. Pinterest really inspired me to make my projects beautiful and appealing to the eyes. So, wanted to add it in this devlog.
DISCLAIMER: The image is an actual preview of how the actual game is going to look like!
Forgot to include: I used Pixel Studio as well for the pixel art.
