I built Cosmic WebOS, a space-themed virtual desktop featuring custom glassmorphic layouts and a dark nebula palette that I designed and hand-coded entirely from scratch using HTML and CSS. To make it completely my own, I engineered a custom Smart Search Hub where typing commands like open calc or stardance launches system tools and portals dynamically. The OS includes a working Calculator, a Notepad app with localStorage persistence, and a live gradient theme-switcher in Settings. While I handled the creative direction, asset placement, and visual layout, I collaborated with an AI assistant to write the trickier background JavaScript logic for window-dragging coordinate physics and iframe sandboxing wrappers. One of my favorite challenges was troubleshooting an annoying encoding glitch (Mojibake) that scrambled my cosmic emojis until I fixed it by injecting strict mapping tags into my HTML head. There is no password required to log in—anyone can load the desktop instantly to slide the windows around, test out the custom search routing commands, or live-swap the background themes in real time!
