fully custom 3.5inch 6S cine-freestyle drone platform with a self-designed frame and modular duct system.
Finished both the top and bottom plate design, might add a little more pocketing later to reduce weight.
next up is to create the sketch for the proper guard and also invert the motors (flip them upside down to make this a pusher)
overall the design is looking good and reminds me alot of the TBS Source one V5 but as a 3.5inch
After finalizing the master sketch, I’ve extruded all of the main parts, this being the bottom plate.
I also finished the keystone, which will clamp the arms together. Next, I will design the top plate and the prop ducts.
I’ve chosen to go with 4mm thick arms to allow for some hits while not being super heavy on weight. Ideally, this should be light and nimble.
I’ve started working on the ducted system, which will be screwed into the 4 corners of the drone, making it fairly easy to remove. The drone frame itself will be a pusher, so the motors will be mounted upside-down
Designing the master sketch, creating a 3.5 inch quad with removeable ducts, i’ve created the master sketch which will be the base for everything. only one half of the frame has to be designed so i can just mirror it later, Il likely also add some more mounting holes for vtx, standoffs and other things but this is basically the final form of the master sketch, we have 8mm arms and 20x20 mounting for the stack.
the arms will likely be extruded to 4-6mm for durability
