I am building a custom epicycloidal gearbox using three phases offset by 120 degrees. This unique arrangement balances forces and cancels vibration to create a smooth, precise, and high-performance drive. By using three phases instead of the standard two, I am drastically increasing the load capacity and smoothing out the torque output, creating a robust, zero-backlash module that bolts directly into my robot's structure.
This is my 4 axis, polar, "core-RΘ" 3D printer, my refreshed take on standard coreXY 3d printers. Designed from the ground up I utilize a tilt in the printhead itself to almost completely remove the need for support from models.
