Project Phantom is a solar-electric Fixed-Wing VTOL UAV designed for autonomous environmental mapping. Currently, we have validated our telemetry nodes and active sensor stack (tracking PM2.5 and VOC gases) using legacy test frames. Moving forward, our future plan is to achieve full engineering sovereignty by scratch-printing a 100% custom LW-PLA airframe with carbon fiber spars. We aim to replace stock autopilot systems entirely with a custom-coded deterministic PID transition loop running on a Teensy 4.1, while integrating a Raspberry Pi 5 edge co-processor for real-time 3D spatial mapping and greenhouse gas tracking.
