I worked on the library that allows my userspace applications to talk to the compositor, i also implemented the WLR_layer_shell protocol which makes apps able to float above or below other icons and claim exclusive space. i also worked on the bare-bones UI library which makes it so that i dont have to always manually write draw calls to cairo or blend2d, i also scouted for different libraries to use for the drawing and landed on blend2d since its very feature rich, lightweight and supports text. A lot of the time was also spent fighting CMake and dependencies. in the image you can see a very bare-bones edition of the system showing how normal xdg apps float above the background while the taskbar floats above the bg but below, as well as just a simple foot terminal.
