Over the past few weeks, I focused on transforming Open-JP from a Japanese learning platform into a project that can support learning any language. I implemented multilingual support across the interface, improved the translation system, and reorganized parts of the project to make it easier for the open-source community to add new languages and contribute content. One of the biggest challenges was designing the localization system so that pages, lessons, and components would remain easy to maintain as more languages are added. I’m especially proud that the project is becoming more accessible and flexible, allowing people from different backgrounds to learn in their native language while also making it simple for contributors to expand the platform. If you’re testing the project, try switching between the available languages, navigate through different pages and lessons, and check that the interface and translations remain consistent. Any missing or incorrect translations are valuable feedback and great opportunities for future contributions.

Currently I’m working on Open-JP, focusing on expanding language support so that more people from different parts of the world can use it without barriers. The goal is to make the project fully accessible and truly open-source, allowing anyone to contribute improvements, add new languages, and adapt it to their own needs. I’m also trying to structure it in a way that makes internationalization easier in the future, so the project can scale beyond just a single language or region and become a more global tool driven by the community.
