  • cleaned up unused code and improved readability.

devlog #22 – shoot for the stars like πŸ“Έ

β‹…Λšβ‚Šβ€§ ଳ β€§β‚ŠΛš β‹…

  • added streak activity chart, maximum streak, and longest active streak widgets to the track v.2 page!
  • implemented β€˜I Did List’ to keep track of completed tasks with date tags. keeps track of refreshing tasks’ completion over 1 week and all of the standard task completions on a collapsible sidebar in the dashboard.

there are a lot of things to organize when dealing with dates… ISO date format, JS dateString format, parsing into milliseconds for comparison, etc.

give me my strawberry coding notebook πŸ₯²πŸ₯² at least i’m having fun

  • created a system of divs and spans for a β€œGithub heatmap” orientation. added Bootstrap tooltips to display more information.
  • much CSS effort was invested in accessibility + making a clean scrolling system and the weekday/month grid

devlog #15 – shoot for the stars like πŸ“Έ

Λšβ‚Šβ€§ ଳ β€§β‚ŠΛš β‹…

  • debugged completion and re-activation of both subtasks and β€œmainstream” tasks! fixed subtask element selection in different task-controlling functions; improved localStorage handling for task completion and prevented duplicate entries.
  • the long-awaited UI update!! used a free gradient as a background, edited opacity and blur in layout.css. changed color schemes further and added glassy / transparency aesthetic to to-do boxes.
  • debugged the case where task dropdown menus didn’t disappear when other tasks were clicked!! small UX updates that make life significantly less frustrating. (small when they’re there, big when they’re not… guys… i’m a totally unartistic soul and a coder… ui/ux designers please save me!!! we love you πŸ’–πŸ’–)

β‹…Λšβ‚Šβ€§ ଳ β€§β‚ŠΛš β‹…

lucky number #13… i’m certainly suffering because of the subtask changes… πŸ˜„ :yay:

  • added CSS and adjusted JavaScript to prevent disabling accordion collapse (conflict with new task dropdown)
  • added CSS to task dropdown for hover-appear features and styling.
  • refactored JavaScript:
  • enabled proper removal and completion of tasks + subtasks! if a β€œmainstream” task is removed, so are all its substacks. a substack is removed cleanly. similarly, if an active β€œmainstream” task is completed, so are all of its subtasks. if it’s recovered from completion, however, the subtasks remain completed.

devlog #12 – shoot for the stars like πŸ“Έ

β‹…Λšβ‚Šβ€§ ଳ β€§β‚ŠΛš β‹…

  • updated CSS styles for buttons and task elements to improve layout and aesthetics: changed button styles from Bootstrap’s primary blue to custom logo purple

  • added dropdown menus for tasks for another layer of safety in deletion

  • added subtasks! (major change… help…)

  • adjusted localStorage interactions, data structure, HTML/CSS code, and JavaScript logic for subtask management. improved user experience by adding focus and click event listeners for task editing and subtasks.

  • had to decide whether to nestle subtasks within their parent tasks or by themselves in localStorage. finally settled on keeping all tasks on the same level for the sake of accessing them easilyβ€”instead, each subtask has a parentTask key, and a β€œmainstream” task has an array of their substack IDs.

lorenz attractor engine β€” devlog #3

  • added input fields for the lorenz equations’ parametersβ€”constants, initial and final t values, step. [initial position to be added. i’m still contemplating whether to have the user input format as [ , , ] or as three separate numerical fields.]
  • the output labels for the range inputs are connected with some javascript. really happy to have found a simple solution!
  • working on the design of the code and features now. UI is held off but open to feedback and advice, as for most of my projects.
  • considering if the graph should be changed simultaneously as the user changes the parameters or upon hitting β€˜submit’…
