It took me sooo long to finally get the desired look for the windows (the css is really nerve wrecking), also now the notes sync with the files, for example when you edit a note it apears on /usr modifed, and vice-versa if you modify on the the editor from the files, one more future is that tasks are now simpler to use and actually sync with the top banner, also you could easily modify now the desired window blur from the settings menu

Recently I started working on the login page, beacuse this will not only be an OS, I want it to be a tool to control all your smart things at home, so the old page is now on \bunker, cause it monitors data from the sensors in the bunker, and now I am working in \house, I am thinking something like a blueprint of the house and some signs for each smart device we’ll see, till then peace ✌️

I now figured out that I must make a timelapse in order to count as a time, and it’s sad because I worked lots of hours on this, anyways this unit relay switch that I want to either to make it launch using my button thing wireless using a nRF, or using an app from the phone, see you in the next update with some even cooler stuff 👀

I really find it difficult to edit CSS, not to say it’s time it takes…also for the new features I added some little guide to settings, and improved the API, also now I am trying to make the website avaible for all types of devices, now what I am working now is the resoultion and compatibility for the mobile….and is veeery hard…. anyways see you in the next devlog with even cooler features 👀👀

Even if it doesn’t seem like much, I really fixed some CSS design, and reworked the dock which took more than I anticipated, and maked the README from scratch, telling there the story of the interface 👀

I am getting ready for the next step of the project, I formatted some gibberish text made by AI when I transformed by vanilla js/html/css to react so I could post it to vercel. (and yes I used AI quite enough…and way too much hours in debugging and improving the AI, although I think without the AI I would not have done so much in such a short time…)
As the improvements I added an actual API for forecast so it can see the actual weather, some CSS fixes specially on colors and special characters not recognized by the font, and now I created the page “launch” which I hope it would make a really strong bound between my Software project and Hardware project 👀 (the only thing is that I don’t know how to record the correct amount of time that I already spent on the Hardware project, is already in the testing part, filmed some videos, but I really don’t know how to record the time, and I don’t want to start over again to record hours 😞)

I wanted to build a fake OS that actually feels like an OS — not just a styled webpage with some panels, but something you can genuinely mess around in. CadetOS is a military command interface that runs in the browser: draggable windows, a fake terminal, file manager, task manager, radar with animated blips, real-time charts, and a bunch of theme/CRT options to dial in the vibe.

The hardest part was honestly the windowed desktop itself — getting focus, drag, resize, and z-ordering to all play nicely together without a native OS doing any of the heavy lifting. It took way more edge-case handling than I expected.

What I'm most proud of is how cohesive it ended up feeling. Every module looks like it belongs in the same universe.

To try it: just open the link, no login needed. Drag some windows around, poke at the Terminal, flip through themes in Settings, watch the Radar sweep. Double-tap D to toggle the desktop.

Finally got the live uRadMonitor API support done (and API in general working)! The dashboard now actually updates with real CO2, VOC, Noise, and PM data. If you’re running custom sensors, I also put together a customizable JSON template you can use to import whatever telemetry you want. Honestly, coding the custom window system from scratch and sorting out the settings page scrollbars was a massive pain, but it’s finally running cleanly. Also, disabled the grid layout by default so the system starts up in a clean floating window desktop instead of stretching everything at once. Also you can access the site now on CadetOS (since it’s ready for the first shipment) 👀

Just added open/close animations to all CadetOS windows (P.S. new windows added). They scale up when you launch them and collapse back down when you close — takes like 200ms but it makes the whole thing feel so much more alive. Honestly such a small thing but it’s the difference between “website with divs” and something that actually feels like an OS. Super happy with how it turned out.

More updates coming. The bunker never sleeps. ☢️
