Devlog #2

I just finished the schematic of my PCB. Now I’m working on the design of the PCB. I arranged the switches and diodes. I don’t know where to place the microcontroller. My plan was to put it on the left but then the case woul be too big. I think I’ll place it on the back of my PCB behind the display.

Devlog 1

I started designing my Hackapad! At first I designed a sketch in Tinkercad. I included 8 buttons, 2 rotary encoders and the display. For the colors I drew my inspiration from devices by Teenage Engineering. As I was designing the matrix, I realized that I was using too many ports than I were available. So my solution is to include the two encoders in the matrix for the press signal and wire one of them for the rotary signal. Then I used exactly all 11 ports of the microcontroller.

I just finished the app and made some changes:
· New Settings menu
· Adjustable avatar letter
· Option to reset all data
· Option to add and subtract funds
· Warning when entering letters or symbols in forms for numbers

Aside from that I removed the diagram because I don’t think you need a visualization of monthly income and expenses. Now I’ll start with PiggiAI. I also hosted Piggi on GitHub Pages so check it out here: https://malik5299.github.io/Piggi/

I largely finished the structure of the app, but it’s a work in progress and a few bugs to fix. The code is now on GitHub - try it out! These things are improved or new:
· New menu for the settings
· New dark mode
· A clearer diagram for expenses
· New buttons
· Maximum of 10 saving goals and 5 sources of income
· A few more improvements

I had a problem with the Editing UI of the balance because I renamed a class in CSS but not in HTML and JS.

As the next step I want to build the PiggiAI. It’s an AI assistant and it uses your Gemini API key. How you get this key is explained in the README in GitHub. Right now, the tile ‘PiggiAI’, the PiggiAI input bar at the bottom and the menu to enter your API key are currently non-functional, I’m working on it.

I’m working on the UI. This is my first prototype.
