From my searches, JavaScript is used for creating really nice animations and transitions… so I made a minigame with it 🥳🥳I needed something to fill in that empty white space anyway!

The minigame is a simple whack a mole-styled game, but instead of moles, it’s (poke)mons! a little Charmander will pop up at a random angle and position inside the space, and within a certain interval (that speeds up each time a 30 second round is over), you have to click it or else it’ll teleport again! the score is on the top-right, and the timer is on the top-left. While this was challenging, getting to see this slowly come to life was so rewarding and so fun, especially because it’s Pokémon-related and something I was really invested in.

This is my portfolio! Right now, the website is empty (and it's on purpose- I'm not the most involved person lol), but don't worry, because I'll keep learning, making new projects, and updating this website to be the best representation of myself!

Apart from school courses and YouTube tutorials, I never programmed by myself. 2 days ago, my friend introduced me to Stardance and I was able to make my first website (almost) by myself :)

My first draft of the site took ~= 10 hours, making the layout and the buttons and figuring out transitions (animations) in CSS to make the buttons look nice. The problem that followed was the fact that I was a complete beginner, and didn’t realize that brute forcing certain pixels on screen would change the view on certain screens.

That lead to my SECOND draft, which was almost a complete rewrite, organizing my code, figuring out how to use vw and %, and making it so that the layout stayed consistent throughout. There are still some problems that need to be fixed in the website, so I invite some of you guys to take a look at my repo (specifically the rewrite branch) and give me some pointers or things that would be cool to implement! You are also free to download the branch and just check out the website yourself.

I’m a really big fan of Pokemon so I might want to incorporate that, but I’m not too sure how…
