This is my project for the "Hackpad" mission! This was my first time using KiCAD, uploading a repository, and coding using python. I also had very little CAD experience before pursuing this project, so I kinda went in blind (it all worked out in the end!). I made this hackpad with the intent of having buttons that could be modified to open some of my most used apps such as youtube music. I had a lot of fun messing around and making my first hack club project. I'm looking forward to assembly, and I'm super excited to start my next project!

Ready for shipment yay! I finally finished my repository (I struggled) and should have all the correct files for submission! This was such a fun project and definitely learned a lot. Hopefully assembly isn’t too difficult…

Finally finished everything but my repository! It’s been a while since I’ve written a devlog (oops), and a LOT has changed. I finally finished the CAD and polished it off, and then moved on to writing the code!! I really struggled with coding because I know basically nothing about python, but I was able to figure it out! Attached below are screenshots of the case and the full render of the macropad!

Micropad Log #1

Making progress on my micropad! This was my first time every designing a PCB, and it surprisingly didn’t take that long (yay!). I also began CADing the 3dprinted shell of the macropad, and will probably finish that in my second devlog (I’m very bad at CAD so please excuse my horrific design). On the macropad itself, there will be a small display that will show whatever song I’m listening to. The four keys will be tied to some commonly used apps of mine (discord, youtube music, etc.) I haven’t fully decided if I also want to make some custom keycaps, but it would be cool. Please give any suggestions or any feedback if you see major errors. Thank you!
